Echocardiography view

Criteria for right ventricle dilation

4-Chamber apical view

Right/left ventricular end-diastolic diameter ratio >0.9

Parasternal long axis view

Right ventricular end-diastolic diameter >30 mm

Subcostal view

Right/left ventricular end-diastolic diameter ratio >0.7 or 0.9

  1. For the evaluation of the dimension of the right ventricle the preferred view should be the apical 4-chamber. The other views should be used as second choice in case of doubtful measure or impossibility to obtain a clear image
